Eloyd window and door | Picture Perfect Living: Enhancing Your Living Room View with Large Windows
2025-07-15
Homes with large windows make a statement. Large window designs create unique home looks and bring many benefits. Large windows for a house can come in a variety of shapes and styles to suit your home. See how you can add large windows to your home and how to use them.
Large Windows
Large windows can open or remain closed depending on the type of window you choose. Eloyd window and door has several styles of large double-pane windows perfect for your home. You can choose large window sizes for a large living room window or other places in your home. One of our design consultants can cover all your large window ideas, even large black-framed windows.
Benefits of Large Windows
Large replacement windows bring several benefits to your home. Large glass windows expand views and add sunlight to rooms. Large windows also help connect you to the outdoors with better viewing. The size of large opening windows also means they can bring the sweet scents of flowers into your home, along with cool, soothing breezes. With large windows you can craft floor-to-ceiling window looks for contemporary style. A combination of windows can make a room feel larger with the flood of natural light. Big windows also mean you can enjoy the benefits of solar heat to make a room feel cozy.
Large Living Room Windows
Large windows for a living room make it feel more spacious and inviting. When you’re thinking about large living room window ideas, consider function and style. A casement window vs. a double hung window functions different. A casement window swings out to open. A double hung window slides open on a window frame. Awning windows vs. casement windows have different orientations. They fit spaces in separate ways. Living room large windows can also feature style accents, like window grilles.
With large living room windows, think about where the sun will enter the space throughout the day. The sunlight can create glare on a TV. You’ll have to consider window treatments that can limit that. If your living room faces the west, think about the solar heat from a setting sun as you arrange your living room.
The size of your living room will help you decide how big of a window you can have. Too large of a living room window can overwhelm the space and make it feel out of proportion. Too small of a living room window has the opposite effect.
Picture windows paired with opening windows create a floor-to-ceiling window look. The combination also helps with air circulation.
Large Windows that Open
Searching for a large opening window? There are several large windows that open you can choose for your home. Bay and bow windows are some of the biggest window options available. They feature several windows mulled together for expansive views. They can also have opening windows throughout or just at the end. Bay and bow windows also provide a nook that adds space to your home, perfect for a seating or extra shelving.
Large home windows can include picture windows. Picture windows do not open, like other windows but they can come in large sizes, like bay and bow windows. Large front window ideas can include a slider triple sash. The windows on the end open and close while the middle window remains closed.
Large Bay Windows
Bay windows are large residential windows that homeowners favor for a large front living room window. Bay windows have three windows in a unit. Marvin Replacement Bay Windows can feature casement or double hung windows. The casement window configuration offers uninterrupted views and open wide for airflow. The double hung window configuration has excellent ventilation, too. Opening the top and bottom sash of a double hung window allows warm air to pass out through the upper part. Cool air can enter through the lower part.
Bay windows extend outward to bring you closer to beautiful backyard views. A street-facing bay window becomes a focal point for your home’s curb appeal.

Large Bow Windows
Another large front window idea is a bow window. Like a bay window, a bow window also extends outward from your home. It creates extra space in your home for more storage or décor items. Bow windows have even larger sizes than bay windows. Marvin Replacement Bow Windows can span six windows wide for panoramic views. Bow windows add a gentle curve to a home’s style that can soften straight lines in a home’s design.
Large Sliding Windows
A large sliding window, like a slider triple sash, makes a big impact in living room spaces. Plus, they open to add ventilation. Slider windows have flexible design. They can have a vertical orientation or have more of a horizontal look for wide views in your living room. Large windows that slide open are simple to operate, too.
Large Casement Windows
A large casement window stretches high for big views. Casement windows don’t have a check rail, like a double hung window. So, you don’t have to peek above or below for a look at outdoor wildlife. You can pair casement windows with picture windows for large outdoor views.
Casement windows often get used as a large egress window. They can open wide enough to meet building codes. There can be some size limitations with casement windows. They need to support the weight of the sash.
Large Awning Windows
A large awning window can fit above or below a picture window. Big awning windows also work well as kitchen windows. They’re easy to reach with their crank handle. In a living room, large awning windows can open for airflow, even in a light rain.
Large Double Hung Windows
Large house windows are often double hung windows. They have traditional style and energy efficiency. Double hung windows can pair next to each other for bigger views and more ventilation. You can add window grids to match your home’s architectural design, too.
Large Picture Windows
Picture windows top the list of large front window ideas. A picture window can take several kinds of shapes to fit spaces. They often come as large rectangles in front living rooms to take advantage of views. They don’t open, like other living room windows, so pairing them with a window that does makes sense.
Large picture window replacement can help with your home’s energy efficiency because they don’t open. The cost of large picture windows comes down to the size of the window. The type of window material and options select also impact large picture windows price.
Large Arched Windows + Large Round Windows
When it comes to large custom windows, large arched windows and large round windows can fill a living room with natural light. Arched and round windows are large fixed windows. That means they don’t open and close like other windows. The curved design adds sweeping views and architectural appeal to living rooms. A large round window above a row of double hung or casement windows can break up straight lines. You can also add a large circular window in the living room to create a focal point. A big circle window can also help capture a particular view.

Why is summer the best time to replace doors and Windows? Eighty percent of people don't know!
2025-07-14
When summer comes, is it still hot even when the air conditioner is set to 16℃? Is the electricity bill like a rocket? Even though the air conditioner is on at home, do you still feel stuffy and uncomfortable, with constant noise and a lack of coolness?
Don't rush to blame the weather or complain about the air conditioner not working well. Maybe the doors and Windows in your home are the real culprits!
Eloyd doors and Windows, having been in disrepair for a long time, have poor heat insulation performance, weak sealing, and poor sound insulation. This not only allows cold air to escape quietly but also enables heat and noise to take advantage of the situation. Rather than engaging in a battle of wits with high temperatures, it is better to address the problem at its root. The following reasons will help you understand the truth in an instant: Why is summer actually the best time to change Windows? It's hard not to change the window!
① When the temperature is high, the construction efficiency is higher. In summer, it is dry and less rainy, so the sealant cures quickly, the materials are less likely to get damp, the installation is more stable, and the construction period is shorter.
② ️ insulation upgrade makes air conditioners more energy-efficient. Old doors and Windows have poor insulation, and cold air is prone to loss. By installing high-performance system Windows, energy can be saved by over 30%, and electricity bills can be easily halved.
③ ️ stronger sound insulation, say goodbye to the hustle and bustle of traffic. The double-glazed glass + multi-layer sealing design effectively blocks outdoor noise, giving you a quiet and cool home environment.
④ ️ prevent moisture and mold, safeguard the safety of walls. Replace Windows before the rainy season in the south to avoid water seepage and mold growth, and enhance the overall moisture-proof performance of the house.
⑤ ️ the drainage system is more advanced and is not afraid of heavy rain. The floor drain drainage system of Ilode doors and Windows can quickly guide water without water accumulation. No matter how strong the wind and rain are, there is no need to worry about water leakage or seepage.
⑥ ️ has an excellent appearance level, enhancing the home style. With minimalist frames, hidden hardware, and multiple color options, it is suitable for various styles such as modern simplicity, light luxury, and Chinese.
⑦ ️ high-definition screen, mosquito repellent and more reassuring. Eloyd doors and Windows are equipped with high-density high-definition invisible screen, effectively blocking mosquito infestations while not affecting ventilation and lighting. This allows you to enjoy fresh air when you open the window to cool off, without fearing the annoying insect disturbance in summer.
⑧ ️ strong wind pressure resistance, more reliable typhoon protection. With high-strength profiles and precise structural design, Yiluode doors and Windows have excellent wind pressure resistance performance, easily coping with heavy rain and strong wind weather, especially suitable for coastal areas with frequent typhoons, building a solid defense line for your home.
⑨ LOW-E coated glass, UV protection combined with high-performance LOW-E coated insulating glass, not only effectively blocks ultraviolet rays, preventing furniture from fading and aging, but also further enhances heat insulation and heat preservation performance, making the indoor environment feel like spring all year round and comfortable for a long time.
⑩ promotion peak season, more affordable prices. Summer is the peak season for decoration. Manufacturers have sufficient production capacity and many discount activities. It's the right time to change Windows!

Our Favorite Window Combinations | Eloyd windows and doors
2025-06-03
If you've never investigated all the window options out there, you might not have realized just how many options there are. Not only are there endless combinations of window frame materials, styles, and colors, but there are also plenty of window combination options.
Creating a combination window for your home offers many benefits and usually delivers the best of both worlds.
Adding different types of window or door to a window design can improve aesthetics, but it also delivers better ventilation and energy efficiency, and in many situations, can make your home more usable and functional.
These are windows that are made up of different window styles and designs that are combined together in a hybrid option that offers the benefits of both types of windows. Not only are these windows beautiful and visually appealing, but they often solve problems that a single window style might not be able to, and they offer functionality that you might not find with a standalone window style.
1. Bay Window Combinations
Bay and bow windows are classic choices that are very popular in a variety of architectural styles.
Bay window combinations extend the versatility and functionality of a classic bay window, by including picture windows or various operable windows, allowing homeowners the look and feel of bay windows with the usability of those other types of window.
The main benefit of bay window combinations is that they incorporate the expansive views and increased space that bay windows offer with the usability of other types of windows.
2. Picture Window with Casement Windows
Picture windows are one of the very best ways to make the most of a glorious view. But we don't only choose windows for the vistas and panoramas we see through them.
Picture window combinations with casement windows above or alongside the large expanse of glass allow you to maximize views while still offering natural ventilation in the space.
3. Fixed Window with Double Hung Windows
Fixed windows are often more affordable, and if they are large, they can offer great views. They're also very easy to clean, because there's no moving parts involved. However, this type of window is not great for ventilation.
Adding double-hung windows to a fixed window gives you the best of both worlds. They're still relatively easy to clean, but they can also be opened and closed to ventilate a room, adjust the temperature, or enjoy a breeze.
4. Ribbon Windows
Ribbon windows are one of the newest types of window out there, and this sleek, modern horizontal style of window is perfect for many contemporary homes.
Combining ribbon windows with various kinds of functional windows gives you the modern style of this type of window with the ventilation and functionality of sliding, casement, or other types of windows.
5. Window and Door Combinations
The last kind of window combination we want to highlight is the many kinds of window and door combinations that are available.
Of course, doors allow access to outdoor spaces, but adding functional windows or even fixed windows can increase the versatility and style of any entryway in your home. Some of the most popular options for this kind of window and door combination are transoms or sidelights.
Conclusion
There are lots of great window options out there today, but you don't have to stick only to what you can order directly from the catalog.
If you need windows that offer a little more, it's entirely possible to create custom window combinations that give you the views, access, ventilation, and style you need to create the home of your dreams.
So, whether you're building a new home or replacing your windows, speak to a window expert, share your wish list, and discuss how a custom combination window package can give you everything you want from your windows.

SPRING CLEANING FOR YOUR ELOYD® DOOR SYSTEM
2025-04-23
For homes with Eloyd® doors, spring is open season. And with regular cleaning and maintenance, your Eloyd door system can fold, slide, or swing open beautifully this year and for many springs (and summers and falls) to come.
Here are the cleaning and maintenance steps we recommend for keeping your Eloyd doors looking great and working in optimal condition.
Clean and lubricate tracks and bearings
Remove surface contaminants by wiping visible track surfaces with a damp soft cloth and a mild detergent, then wiping dry with a clean cloth. Using a suitable applicator, spread a small amount of clear petroleum jelly or similar lubricant. Ensure that the carrier wheels pass through the lubricant so that it's distributed evenly along the track. Place additional lubricant around the bearings. In severe environments, apply a thin film of WD-40®. Always keep the bottom guide channel free from debris.
Take Care of Hangers, Pivots, Brackets, Handle Back Plates, and Hinges
Exposed surfaces should be wiped down with warm soapy water and a soft rag, and then rinsed clean before applying new surface protectants. A light spray application of WD-40® followed by a light wipe with a dry cloth to remove excess is recommended for all hangers, pivots, brackets, and hinges.
Be careful not to expose wood items to these compounds as they may cause staining. For an oil-rubbed bronze finish, care should be taken when cleaning or reapplying surface protectants.
What to do with Surface-Mounted Locking Mechanisms
Spray WD-40® to the sliding pin inside the drop bolt and to the lock cylinder (if applicable). There are access holes or slots on all drop bolts so that this can be completed without removing the locks from the doors.
Aluminum Coatings: Easy Cleaning and Regular Inspection
For systems with aluminum coatings, exposed surfaces should be cleaned with mild detergent soap and water. Any chips or scratches must be repaired immediately, and not left exposed to the elements.
Wood Components: Check for Exposure
All wood component parts and finishes must be inspected annually for damage resulting from exposure to the elements and repaired immediately if any issues are found.
Vinyl Surfaces — The Definition of Low Maintenance
Clean exposed surfaces with mild detergent soap and water — never harsh chemicals or acids.
Inspect and Clean Screens
Dust and debris can collect in the guide channels over time. Removal of this buildup is easy — and important to the screen’s smooth movement. While the screen is retracted, remove any debris with a soft cloth or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush nozzle.
Dusty or coastal environments will require more regular cleaning. The screen mesh should be lightly dusted to maintain an unobstructed view and air flow. While the screen is extended, remove any build up with a vacuum cleaner that has a soft brush nozzle. Care should be taken not to tear or rip the mesh.
How often should you perform maintenance on your door system?
These procedures need to be carried out as often as necessary to prevent deterioration and to detect and address any issues in their earliest stages. At a minimum, however, we recommend that Eloyd door systems in general environments receive maintenance every six (6) months. If your door system is
